The repairability index
In accordance with Article L.541-9-2 of the French Environmental Code, the repairability index is a score out of 10 that helps measure a product’s ability to be repaired. It appears on the products concerned and makes it easier to identify repairable products.

For the televisions and washing machines covered by the new regime, the durability index is progressively replacing the repairability index according to the regulatory schedule.

The durability index
The durability index measures the expected lifespan of a product. It is scored out of 10 and complements repairability with criteria for reliability, maintenance, upkeep, warranty and quality.

What is the difference between the durability and repairability indices?
The durability index goes beyond the repairability index by including reliability, i.e. resistance to stress and wear, maintenance, upkeep, the durability warranty and the quality process. On this site, when durability is provided it takes precedence: a product falls under one regime or the other, never both.

Progressive rollout
Since 2025, the durability index applies first to televisions (January 2025) and washing machines (April 2025), for which it replaces the repairability index. It will be progressively extended to other product categories according to the regulatory deadlines.
The display appears automatically on the relevant product pages as soon as the repairability or durability data in the catalogue is completed.
