The Intex Prism Frame above-ground pool measures 4.00 x 2.00 x 1.00 m, holding around 8 m³ of water. A rectangle is the right shape for anyone who wants to swim: four metres is enough to string lengths together, which a round pool of the same surface area never allows. The full metre of depth puts an adult in to the waist and makes the water genuinely buoyant, where 76 cm models remain paddling pools.

Its structure is built from steel tubes assembled into a frame, and the liner is triple thickness. That is the real difference from a self-supporting pool: the tubes hold the shape, not the pressure of the water, so the walls stay straight and the stated volume is the one you get. Triple thickness absorbs scuffing from the floor and kicks against the wall, the two ordinary causes of punctures in thin liners.

The set is delivered complete: a C530 cartridge filter pump rated at 1.7 m³/h and a safety ladder with removable steps. The pump flow is matched to this volume, something worth checking when filtration and pool are bought separately. The removable steps come away when nobody is watching the pool, which stops a young child reaching the water alone.

Assembly takes around 45 minutes and needs no tools. It is a two-person job on flat ground cleared of stones, and levelling the ground remains what decides how well the pool holds up over the years. The set weighs 130 kg as delivered and Intex covers it for 2 years.
