The AEG Series 7000 GlassCare dishwasher handles 14 place settings per cycle in a 60 cm freestanding format. The GlassCare name points to the care given to glassware, a real concern when an automatic wash cycle meets fine glasses. Its nine programmes and four temperatures cover heavily soiled loads as well as light ones.

Rated C on the European A to G scale, it uses 75 kWh per year and just 11 litres of water per cycle. The eco programme runs for 4 hours, a deliberately long cycle that allows a lower temperature and lower consumption. Hot water connection is among its features, an option that cuts heating time where the plumbing allows it.

At 44 decibels in noise class B, it remains compatible with a kitchen open onto the living room, including overnight operation. Controls are hidden on the top edge of the door, and progress is shown on a digital display backed by a light beam projected onto the floor.
