The Amica AG2620X gas domino hob is 30 cm wide, the format that defines the whole category. A domino is not a small hob: it is a module you combine with others to build a hob to measure, for instance two gas burners alongside two electric zones. That logic lets you keep a flame for the wok and the sauté pan while having an electric surface for slow cooking.

Its two burners total 4,000 W and light electronically, with no match or lighter. The pan supports are cast iron, a material that takes the weight of a casserole and holds heat, unlike wire steel supports that distort with use. The knobs sit at the front, reachable without passing your hand over the flames.

Each burner is fitted with a thermocouple, a safety feature not to be overlooked on a gas hob. The principle is mechanical: a probe heated by the flame keeps the gas supply open, and as soon as the flame goes out, a pan boiling over for example, the probe cools and shuts off the gas within seconds. A butane/propane injector is supplied, which allows running the hob from a bottle and not only from mains gas.
