Einhell GE-SA 1435/1 electric scarifier/aerator - 1400 W - 35 cm

The Einhell GE-SA 1435/1 scarifier and aerator clears the lawn of the thatch and moss that smother the grass. Its 1400 W series motor drives a roller across a 35 cm working width, a size suited to small and medium lawns. A series motor gives high starting torque, which matters when the blades cut into a dense layer of thatch.

The machine is genuinely two tools in one, with two rollers that swap over without tools. The scarifying roller carries 16 stainless steel blades that cut vertically through the thatch and moss built up at the base of the blades of grass. The aerating roller carries 24 steel tines that rake the surface without cutting it, reopening the soil to air and water. Both rollers turn on ball bearings, a mounting that limits play and premature wear of the shaft.

Depth adjustment is centralised across four positions, which avoids setting each wheel separately. That range covers everything from a light spring raking to a firm scarifying pass on a neglected lawn. The 28 litre collection box gathers the debris as you go and saves a full raking afterwards.

The handlebar folds using a quick-release lever, with no tools or screws to undo, for flat storage in a garage or shed. Running on 230 V from a domestic socket, it weighs 10,21 kg and starts with no fuel and no engine servicing.
